Gahdiliel is a DJ, Conscious Hip Hop Artist and fusion
music performer. He's based out of Washington, DC but spent his
formative years in the deep south, Central Mississippi. He was greatly
influenced by his musical family , especially his father and uncles
who were the original l" Soul Brother 6" , the writers of the 1960's
hit song " Some Kinda Wonderful" that is still played today on the
radio. In 1998 Gahdiliel worked with "The Suns Of Light", (formally
The Boys) and began his professional career as a solo artist. In
Atlanta he worked with several independent artist but didn't quite
get the buzz that he wanted so he moved to Washington, DC in which
he pursued his second passion which is healing people with healthy
food, so he worked as a vegan chef in a popular DC restaurant.
He
kept searching for the right blend of music, when he was introduced
to Nazeeha Howard a well known local musician and music therapist
. Gahdiliel knew that this was the lady he was destine to meet.
After about a year they formed the band "The Revealing Way" with
Abita Taylor on Sax. The trio introduced the CD "Revealed" in the
Spring of 2008, and created a music video that receives many hits
on You-Tube. The sound was a powerful blend of jazz , conscious
hip hop and healing sound vibrations. " The Revealing Way " performed
in the Greater Washington Area jazz clubs , metaphysical healing
centers, churches, private parties and events.
Gahdiliel's favorite
form of entertaining and healing is now being expressed through
being a Conscious DJ. He calls myself " The Soul Doctor" and the
Soul Doctor's Medicine is a blend of 70's soul , conscious rap,
hip hop, funk, blues, and spiritual music. He used Rap music to
educate the people about connecting to their higher selves and naturally
healing their minds, bodies and spirit.
" I love music especially
Soul music that touches you deep inside. When I'm DJ ing I feel
like it's my responsibility to help cure people from what's hurting
them. That's why I go by the name " Soul Doctor" when I'm spinning
records. I planned to travel the world with "Soul Doctor's Medicine".
My mission is to spread love through music and educate people on
the health benefits of eating a Vegan diet, says Gahdiliel.
In 2007
he wrote a children's book called " Where's Kemuel?" in which he
tells a story of a young West African boy who's experiencing peer
pressure for the first time from a young African American boy comes
to visit him. Kemuel has to fight against falling for the negative
images and lyrics of the unconscious rap music that the American
boy is listening to and remember who he truly is on a deep soul
level. Get ready has two more children books on the way. "I've been
a Vegan since 1995 and feel the same when I was 19, young, vibrant
and healthy. So, don't be surprise if I write a book about veganism."
