On Friday start your dinner with a cup of Joyce’s HOMEMADE BEAN SOUP, FOLLOWED BY BAKED HAM (baked by a Virginian—does this make it a Virginia ham?), SCALLOPED POTATOES, STRING BEANS, WITH SALAD AND ROLLS AND DESSERT.  Okay, Joyce, you did vegetable and now you’re doing bean, what happened to my Autumn Soup????

Wow!!! What a huge motley crew on WEDNESDAY NIGHT FOR POKER.  Scott Smith was in first place at the end of week 7 but I don’t have last night’s scores yet so you will have to come to the Lodge to see who is winning.

Please bring 2 non-perishable food items to support the Arlington Food Assistance Center.  Everyone who brings at least 2 items gets $50 in extra chips to start the tournament this week, next week, the week after, and the final week of the tourney.  Please bring more than 2 if you can!!

MANY THANKS TO SHAWN KIRKPATRICK for donating a little something extra for the winner of week 8.

I am sure you are welcome to DONATE NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS whether you play poker or not.  There will be a place to put them at the Lodge.

I would be remiss if I did not remember to thank CAROL JONES and family for DECORATING THE DINING ROOM according to season.  July 4th, Easter, whatever the time, Carol has it ready.  Sorry it took me so long to remember you in the newsletter, Carol, but then my memory is getter shorter.

Come watch the Redskins on Monday night at the Lodge.

The November WOTM meeting will be held on Monday, November 1, instead of Tuesday, allowing those members committed to working the polls to attend both functions.  The meeting is in honor of our newest Star Recorder, Carol Jones.
