MOOSE NEWS:
Thanks to everyone who attended the Casserole Cook-Off on Saturday. We had 11 entries in the contest and I counted at least 30 people mingling around the Lodge throughout the day. Congratulations to the winners: Joyce (Tuna&Noodles) first place; Carol Gillard (Newfoundland Cabbage) second place; and Judith York (English Sheperd's Pie) third place.

VMA CONVENTION:
A big thank to Shawn Kirkpatrick, Tom Cahill and Billy Hensley for stepping up and making sure we were covered at all four Convention roll calls so we wouldn’t have to close our social quarters for a week. Whilst there, we were able to network with some of the other lodges and get some ideas on what we are doing well and where we can do some things differently. If you want to go to the next convention which will be in Norfolk, VA, mark your calendar for August 23-25.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:
Did you see the cards for Safe Surfin’ taped to the mirror? Safe Surfin’ is a Moose program that our Lodge has chosen to support. The program focuses on teaching young kids how to safely surf the web. Feel free to ask the bartender for a card if you want to make a donation and we’ll put your card on the mirror–the goal is to fill up the mirror. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from the food sales at the Casserole Cook-Off will be donated to Safe Surfin’.

46th Superbowl - Snacks served - check with the bar staff or Tom to see what is cooking.

Saturday February 11 - Valentine's Dinner:

The WOTM is putting together a Valentine's Basket Raffle -- tickets are on sale at the bar, or from Donna. The basket is currently sitting at the bar so come take a look and buy your tickets: $1.00 each, or six for $5.00. Drawing will take place at the Valentine's Dinner. Basket contains: two bottles of wine, wine glasses, $25.00 gift certificate for Chili's, food, candy and more!

Saturday February 18 - Johnny Artis Band will be playing at the Moose - from 9PM -1AM.

Saturday February 25 - Bourbon Tasting, with cigars and poker - tentatively scheduled for 7PM.
